When Nature Hits Us

The nature hit us back! Last May 2, Burma was destroyed with the cyclone Nargis (Burma’s deadliest natural disaster in the history). Many of its citizens died, for almost hundreds of thousandths of its population, which made the whole country & the surrounding countries grieved with that very tragic event. My heart broke when I saw in the net thousands of bloated corpses, both adults and very young victims. I saw hundreds of helpless babies died and were being washed away by the flood. I couldn’t help but cry while seeing those pictures. I knew there is nothing I could do but say a prayer for the victims and the souls of those who have passed away. I thought to myself, what is more painful than this? This is a sudden incident that shocked the entire globe.

Early this morning, I heard in the news about the earthquake in Shichuan, China. I thought for a while, “What is going on?” Thousands of Chinese died along with the hundreds of collapsed buildings and plants. Many were buried alive and still waiting for rescue.

What is happening? A series of natural calamity disasters has hit the Asia. Burma is in Southeast Asia, while China is in the East Asia. This really bothered me. This is a heartrending time for us all. This is a time that really requires our spiritual support to our brothers and sisters who are now suffering and facing a very unkind situation. Let us open our hearts to them and offer our help through prayers.
