The Butterfly

A man found a cocoon for a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole.
Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and could go no farther. Then the man decided to help the butterfly.
He took a pair of scissors and snipped the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily.

Something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and deformed wings. It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the small opening of the cocoon are God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life.

If God allowed us to go through all our life without any obstacles, that would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

Not only that, we could never fly.

LOVE IT!! I received this via email a while ago and it remains one of my favorites!
without a struggle how can we be a testimony to others of God's power to bring us through stuff?
Blessings!

wow what a great , excellent, marvelous composition well actually i was inspired by that
well it was true definitely true god give us all this challenges, trials and obstacles to us his creation for him to test or faith on him but beyond this, god also give us the strength the skill and the talent that we can use to get pass through this stages of our life we must just know how to use of it and having this with faith and love nothing will go against us
we must just struggle for victory it was just like passing through a tiny dark hole where you will have a hard time on passing it but still in the end you will see the light

we will be needing some help from the persons around us or i can say the angels of god but still theres a limit on everything we must not just lean on this helping hands we must learn how to stand by our own
this was the wonders of life

hi poor prince! very well said! i agree to that! we need help from other people in terms of moral support and inspring us to be stronger... but the actions we take still lie within us... GOd gave us the gift of freedom... to choose what to decide and do in our own lives! thanks a lot poor prince for dropping by and i really appreciate your wonderful comments! take care : )

Strong people does not really mean they are strong. It is just that when there are problems, they dont turn their back on it. They face and fight it. That is why now, they fly so high.

Missed your blog! I was busy with my work days ago :) Hope you're doing well jen!

yes, you are right, sometimes it is just so hard to realize the importance of all the downs and challenges in our lives. but when the storm has settled, that's the time we realize how it helped us to be what we have become and the greater gains God has in store for us.

i love butterflies! when we struggle, that means we are determined to become better, to have something we are passionate about, to achieve. without this, you are not far from going down 6 feet under! hahaha

This is really an inspiring story. It is the reality of life that we will face some setback in life just like butterflies.
With the obstacles in our life, we learn to clear it through learning, experiences, friends' motivations.
I learn something good today, take good care, jen.
